Sam’s Club Cozumel – Insider Info by a Local
Are you looking for information on Sam’s Club Cozumel? You’re in the right place. I lived in Cozumel for two years and am always looking for the best deals.
Whether you’re living in Cozumel full-time or just visiting, you don’t want to waste your time or money.
That’s why I’ve rounded up all the information you need to know about Sam’s Club Cozumel so you can spend your time here on better things than comparing stores and prices.
Is There a Sam’s Club in Cozumel?
The good news is yes, there is a Sam’s Club in Cozumel.
Location: Av. Andrés Quintana Roo between Av. 75 Sur & Ave. 85 Sur
Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. daily
Avenida Andres Quintana Roo is where Calle 11 would be. People often refer to it as 11th Street.
Addresses in Cozumel are often vague. Most places don’t have a street number at all so they tell you the street and which two streets it’s between. It’s annoying, but what can you do?
Pro tip: on your way to or from Sam’s Club, stop by Maple Bakehouse on the corner of Ave. 65 and Quintana Roo. They have the best pastries and coffee!
Sam’s Club Mexico Membership Prices:
Sam’s Club Mexico memberships range from $500 MXN to $1,100 MXN. Each Sam’s Club membership comes with an additional membership at no extra cost.
The benefits you get at each level are in line with what you get in the United States. You can see all the details on their website.

What Does Sam’s Club Cozumel Offer?
Sam’s Club in Cozumel is very similar to Sam’s Clubs in the United States. They sell:
Groceries: The store offers a variety of fresh produce, meats, bakery items, and pantry staples. You can find both local specialties and international brands.
Electronics: Whether you’re looking for a new laptop, a smartphone, or other electronic gadgets, Sam’s Club has a range of options that can suit various needs and budgets.
Apparel: With options for men, women, and children, you can outfit the whole family. The selections include both casual wear and slightly more formal options.
Household Items: From kitchenware and appliances to furniture and bedding, you can find numerous products to enhance or maintain your home environment.
Health and Wellness: The store includes a pharmacy section offering a range of health products, including over-the-counter medications, supplements, and personal care items. I even recently read that they sell health insurance.
Local Products: Emphasizing local culture and cuisine, Sam’s Club in Cozumel stocks items unique to the region, which are perfect for those who want to experience local flavors or take home authentic souvenirs.
Member’s Mark Brand: This is Sam’s Club’s private label, offering high-quality products across various categories at competitive prices. From gourmet foods to high-end electronics, these products provide excellent value.
Optical Center: For those needing eye care, the optical center offers eye exams and a great selection of eyeglasses and contact lenses at reasonable prices.
Tire and Battery Center: Vehicle maintenance is more convenient with on-site services for tire purchases, installations, and battery replacements.

Prices at Sam’s Club Cozumel
Of course, one of the major draws of Sam’s Club is the competitive pricing, particularly for bulk items.
This is ideal for families, large groups, or small business owners looking to stock up. Of course, if you’re just in town for a few days, you can only use so many limes!
While you can get good deals when you’re buying in bulk, overall, the prices at the Cozumel Sam’s Club are not a whole lot cheaper than at the other grocery stores in Cozumel. There are some exceptions, of course.
I found things like salami, cheese, and lunch meats to be quite a bit cheaper at Sam’s Club than at Chedraui or Mega Soriana.
They also have great prices on dog food. The problem for me is that the Sam’s Club sizes of dog food will last my little dog about ten years.
For me, the biggest reason to shop at Sam’s is that they often have hard-to-find things at decent prices. Like linens. For some reason, it’s hard to find good towels in Cozumel for less than $50 apiece.
Shopping Tips at Sam’s Club Cozumel
- Pay with a debit card or cash instead of credit and you’ll save 2.25%.
- The self-check registers have a button on the lower screen that changes to English.
As with many things in Mexico, service can be unpredictable. A guy I know saw a fan online that was also in stock at the store. He went to the store to get it but the price was higher than online.
They wouldn’t match the online price but said he had to order it online and schedule pickup. So while he was there, he ordered it online and waited around until it was ready for pick up in about 30 minutes.

Can You Use Your U.S. Sam’s Club Membership in Cozumel?
Yes, your U.S. Sam’s Club membership will work in Mexico. But to shop online, you’ll need the Mexico Sam’s membership.
Don’t renew your U.S. membership at a Mexico store or you will have problems using it online in the United States. If it needs to be renewed, do it yourself online.
Can You Use Your Mexican Sam’s Club Membership in the U.S.?
Yes, you can use a membership you get in Mexico in the United States. Sam’s Club membership cards work in all countries. This is from their help page:
With an active membership, you can shop at any Sam’s Club in any country. To make sure your membership card is accepted, you must complete checkout at a staffed register inside the club whenever shopping outside of your home country.
Again, with a Mexican Sam’s Club membership, you won’t be able to shop online in the U.S.
Wrap-Up: Sam’s Club Cozumel
Sam’s Club in Cozumel certainly has its perks, especially if you’re looking for good prices on bulk items and unique products that might be hard to find elsewhere on the island, particularly during Christmas.
However, it’s important to note that while there are bargains to be had, the pricing at Sam’s Club is generally comparable to other nearby options, such as Bodega Aurrera, which is conveniently located right next door.
This makes Sam’s Club a great option if you’re already a member and can take advantage of the membership benefits, but it might not warrant a special visit if you’re not in the market for bulk purchases.
If you do have a Sam’s Club membership, it’s definitely worth stopping by to explore their offerings and compare prices—especially before stocking up for big events or extended stays in Cozumel.
