It’s going to apply to ALL passengers! No Headphones, No Flight

If you’ve traveled even a few times, you’ve probably run into at least one really annoying passenger. The ones who cut lines at security (people even call them “gate lice”), or someone who just lets their kid scream the whole flight and does nothing, or those passengers who stretch their feet into your space like it’s somehow theirs too.

But lately there’s been another thing people complain about a lot more than before, people just playing music or videos out loud on their phones, no headphones, nothing.

Some people even call it “barebeating” which is basically just a fancy word for blasting your own audio in public without caring who hears it.

It might not sound that serious compared to other bad behavior on flights, but honestly it can make the whole cabin feel really irritating fast, especially when you just want quiet.

Now United Airlines has basically said enough is enough. They updated their rules saying passengers can actually be removed if they refuse to use headphones while watching or listening to stuff on their devices.

It’s now written into their official policy, along with other things like being drunk on board or causing disruption.

The airline says this rule wasn’t exactly new, just made clearer now, especially with more people streaming in-flight because of better Wi-Fi like Starlink and all that.

Online people seem kinda split but mostly supportive. A lot of comments are basically like “why do we even need a rule for this, it’s just basic manners.” Some others say flight attendants already deal with this every flight and it gets tiring having to remind people over and over again.

And yeah, some people even pointed out it’s not just adults, sometimes kids are doing it too and parents don’t really step in which makes it worse.

So yeah, the whole debate is basically about respect in shared spaces… like should something as simple as headphones really have to be enforced by airlines or should people just already know.
