Best Places For Ziplining in Cozumel

BySherry Arkfeld August 12, 2025August 11, 2025 UpdatedAugust 11, 2025

Are you looking for the best ziplining in Cozumel? You’re in the right place! I lived in Cozumel and am a big fan of ziplining.

Although, to be honest, I’m terribly afraid of heights, so it’s a bit of a love-hate relationship.

But ever since I conquered my fears and went zipping over the trees, I was hooked. I’m still terrified every time, but I do it anyway.

There aren’t a lot of options for zip lines in Cozumel. The lack of mountains makes it not as great for ziplines as other places in the Caribbean.

Still, the ziplines they do have are pretty darn good.

I’ve checked them all out thoroughly, so I can give you a rundown on which to choose for your adventure.

Just want the bottom line? I’ve got you! My top pick for Cozumel ziplining is The Original Zipline Adventure. I love the small groups and their ziplines are amazing. Learn more.

Overview of Ziplining in Cozumel

Ziplining in Cozumel is a fun way to mix a little adrenaline with some pretty incredible views.

Youโ€™ll glide over lush jungle and, in some spots, catch a glimpse of that bright blue Caribbean water.

Most zipline courses are part of eco-parks or private reserves, so you can easily pair them with other activities.

Safety is taken seriously, with quality gear and guides who walk you through everything.

Itโ€™s something the whole family can do, though youโ€™ll need to be comfortable climbing up to each launch point.

Youโ€™ll get strapped into a harness, listen to a quick safety talk, and then climb the towers to reach the starting platforms. That climb is the part that gets me, but once youโ€™re up there, the ride is worth it.

Honestly, if you’re looking for a vacation destination solely for some great ziplining, Cozumel isn’t the spot. The ziplines here are good, but not spectacular. Still, it’s a fun activity while you’re visiting.

Wrap-Up: Best Places for Ziplining in Cozumel

Cozumel isnโ€™t the ziplining capital of the world, but itโ€™s still a fun way to spend a couple of hours while youโ€™re here.

The towers give you some nice views, the guides keep things safe, and itโ€™s something the whole family can do together.

If youโ€™re only going to try one, go with The Original Zipline Adventure. Small groups mean less waiting and more flying, the six-line circuit keeps it interesting, and the location makes it easy to squeeze in before or after beach time.

Whether youโ€™re chasing thrills or just want to check ziplining off your list, Cozumel has you covered.

Pro Tips for Your Mexico Trips

Do I need travel insurance?

YES. No matter when you visit Mexico, don’t forget to buy travel insurance. It’s a small price to pay for peace of mind. If you need it once it will pay for itself many times over. I highly recommend Safety Wing. They have a proven track record for customer satisfaction and a variety of coverage levels.

Is it safe to rent a car in Mexico?

YES. Renting a car in Mexico is not only safe, but it’s a great way to explore. Discover Cars is hands down the best rental car company. They check international and local companies to get you the best rates.

Will my phone work in Mexico?

Maybe โ€” It depends on your company, so check with your provider. If you donโ€™t have free service in Mexico, the least expensive option is to buy a Telcel SIM card. As Mexicoโ€™s largest carrier, Telcel has the best coverage of any Mexico SIM Cards. I have one and it’s been a lifesaver.

You can also get an eSIM. Airalo has coverage in over 200 countries/regions, including Mexico.

Whatโ€™s the best way to book my Mexico accommodations?

For Mexico hotels, Booking.com is the best site, but for hostels, check out Hostel World. If youโ€™re considering a Mexico Airbnb, donโ€™t forget to check VRBO, which is often cheaper with more options.

What do I pack for Mexico?

My Mexico packing list has all the info you need on packing for your trip to Mexico.

Whatโ€™s the best site for great deals on flights to Mexico?

For finding cheap Mexico flights, I recommend using Skyscanner.

Do I need a visa for Mexico?

Probably Not. U.S., Canadian, and most European passport holders donโ€™t need a visa for Mexico. To verify if you’ll need a Mexico travel visa check the Mexican Consulate’s website.
